Long story relatively short - I have gone very delinquent on a Credit Card bill- the long part of the story is that I had a very small amount on the credit card and my ex-fiance incurred more on the card. However, there is no way of proving this. So, I paid off other debts since 2005 and have not paid on this card. The debt was sold to a debt collection company the company is now saying they will file a judgment against me. My options are to go to court and see if I can get the amount reduced or sign a consent judgment and work out a payment plan. I would gladly work out a payment plan only the original debt of about $8,000 is now $16,000. They will not negotiate with me at all to reduce the amount. Should I go to court and see if I can get the amount reduced and set up a payment plan? They are telling me if I do go to court, and I do get it reduced I will have to make one lump payment. Please help! What are my options here. Bobbi
