Are you referring to a DBA or LLC which is started by the Corp. If so how does either share the profits with the parent company?

It really doesn't make any difference as a DBA or LLC ... the profits are an accounting entry to the parent company. If the main co. (parent) is an LLC the profits of the main company and the division will inure to you as an individual and be taxed accordingly.
